How to Heal Fast & Thoroughly
We highly recommend seeing a physiotherapist if you feel recurring pain or you receive an injury. Early accurate assessment & prompt appropriate treatment greatly affect clinical results. By easing the pain faster, reducing unnecessary drug intake, and correcting biomechanical faults at an early stage. You can expect to reduce the risk of an injuries recurrence and take less income loss from time off work & time away from your sports. Lastly, treating serious injuries early on can improve scar tissue quality, by using techniques to guide the direction of scar formation. If you don’t treat an injury it takes longer to heal and can cause lingering pain.

A few years ago, I suffered a very bad accident with my right leg and thigh. What happened was my right leg went down through an iron grill guarding an underground passage. Significant pain and damage resulted in my being forced to walk with the aid of a crutch and even then, with serious pain. Aine had handled several sports accident injuries for me -mainly my back up until then. With my right thigh having been scraped and then crushed under my own weight falling through the grill I didn’t hold out much hope of any let alone a full recovery. How wrong I was! Aine persevered through several weeks of intensive therapy and my thigh recovered fully. To this day I thank my lucky stars for this recovery to full and active participation in all my usual sports and activities.
I do a lot of hill walking and ended up with very tight hamstrings as a result of said activity. Aine O’Neill convinced me to try dry-needle therapy to relieve the pain and tightness. After about 3 sessions on each occasion, I was pain-free and loose. When this condition recurs, I return to Aine and offer myself as a willing pincushion. I’ve often told her I believe she likes sticking pins in me.
